Couple from Florida adopts 9 kids: If not us, then who?

A couple in Florida couple adopts nine siblings to keep them together. It started when Jacob Smith saw a post on Facebook about nine siblings who needed help, the siblings needed to be adopted. The then childless Peggy Smith and her husband decided to lend a helping hand to the siblings by adopting all of them, the couple instantly went from childless to having nine children.

But Jacob and Peggy weren’t alone in this endeavor, after seeing the said Facebook post Jacob was immediately compelled to help but he knew that caring for nine children would be tough job so he enlisted the help of his parents Thad and Loryn, they joined forces to adopt and raise the siblings, all nine of them.

“I saw a group of siblings that needed adopting on Facebook. I mentioned that I would love to be able to help and my mum called to ask if I was serious about it. She suggested we take the younger ones and they adopt the older ones to keep them all together. It’s just crazy that it all came from a Facebook post.” Jacob reminisces.

Fortunately, the adoption process went smoothly and after only four days the adoption was complete.
“We do know this is probably the hardest thing we will ever do. We thought it was crazy, but we thought why not? Why not this family?

“We have a home. Why not grow our family this way?” Peggy said, In an interview with The Mirror.
Peggy and Jacob are currently taking care of the youngest four of the nine siblings while in a house a few doors away Thad and Loryn are taking care of the older ones.
“Our response is, there is no doubt we are crazy but we have parented 15 children full time and fostered over 100 children through our years as foster parents.

“We feel it boils down to if not us, then who? Loryn explained.
She adds “We received a card from our 10-year old soon-to-be daughter, in it, she wrote ‘Thank you for letting us be in your home, you saved us from being separated’.”
They are now working with the Promise Love Foundation to raise enough money to buy 2 cars to better suit their big family’s needs.
